Eder believes Tuesday’s Genoa Derby could be “the turning point in Sampdoria’s season.”
It kicks off at 19.45 GMT on Tuesday and is the first Serie A game of 2016.
“This is an important year for the club,” striker Eder told the official Sampdoria TV channel.
“Last season we had a great campaign, this time we started well and then ran into some difficulties. Now the side is getting back on track.
“We are working well and are on the right path to have another great season.”

Among the changes was the arrival of Coach Vincenzo Montella in place of sacked Walter Zenga.
“When the management staff changes it always takes a little time to get to know the new working methods, but we did well in the last couple of matches.
“Now we have a very special fixture, one that is different to all the others, and it can be the turning point in Sampdoria’s season.
“The important thing is to be cool-headed with the right degree of pressure, otherwise we risk reaching the game already exhausted. We are well aware it’s a difficult match and will try to win, as always.”
