Sampdoria’s latest financial statements show former President Edoardo Garrone invested over €60m in the club.

Current patron Massimo Ferrero has been forced to publicly declare that the club is ‘financially stable’, after the Gazzetta dello Sport reported that serious losses were being made.

The newspaper is today claiming that the latest accounts for the Blucerchiati’s holding company support its claims, with the 2014 financial statements showing that Garrone gave €62m to Sports Entertainment.

The investment came after the former patron had sold the club, while he also invested €3m at the time of the sale.

The statements also show that Ferrero has put in €36m, almost €30m of which was invested directly through the holding company.

The figures show, therefore, that the majority of investment in Sampdoria is coming from the former owner, rather than Ferrero.
