However the club may sell part of the business. According to Telelombardia, Milan are planning on selling 30 per cent of their shares to a foreign investor, the identity of which has not been revealed.

However the club may sell part of the business. According to Telelombardia, Milan are planning on selling 30 per cent of their shares to a foreign investor, the identity of which has not been revealed.

They may then sell a further 10-15 per cent to a group of share-holders formed out of their own popular support.

The model would be based partly on clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, in which it is possible to purchase membership to the company.

The Berlusconi family and the holding company Fininvest would retain control over 55-60 per cent of the shares, and would therefore still be in control of Milan.
