Il Mattino reported that today the public prosecutor of Rome has ordered the arrest of Gennaro De Tommaso, also known as Genny ‘a Carogna, along with four other Napoli Ultras, with the charge of various crimes including in particular the ‘throwing of hazardous material and invasion of the pitch at a sporting event’.

The warrant reportedly makes particular reference to the ‘criminal conduct’ before the match between Fiorentina and Napoli both inside and outside the stadium, where a group of around 100 Ultras headed by De Tommaso faced off with police.

De Tommaso, who has already been banned from attending stadiums for the next five years, has apparently been placed under house arrest and is considered by DIGOS as the ‘leader and instigator of the violence’ that occurred in the hours before last season’s Coppa Italia final in Piazza Mazzini.

Before the game, there were incidents of violence near Tor Di Quinto which led to the wounding of Ciro Esposito, who died after weeks in hospital.

Roma Ultra Daniele De Santis has been charged for the death of Esposito.
