The Juventus man believes this aspect of the game is vital if Cesare Prandelli’s side are to be able to adapt to any opposition they are facing at the World Cup.

Writing on his official website, the 27-year-old also revealed some of the methods the Italian camp have been using to try to acclimatise themselves to the Manaus climate they will have to deal with in their opening match.

“The group is solid and the new arrivals are showing they are ready for their new experience in the national team,” Bonucci wrote. “This is thanks to the advice passed on by our Coach.

“For us to get used to the climate we will face in Manaus we have a ‘cottage,’ specifically built to allow us to experience what we will go through in our opening match.

“In 20 minutes you suffer, you feel the heat and humidity, but it is a good decision to have it and it improves our preparation.

“Of course, the weather aspect isn’t the only thing concerning us about the World Cup. The team needs to show a positive attitude, without forgetting that the forwards and midfielder need to do their bit defensively too.

“We are trying different formations and we need to be able to adapt to our opposition.”
