On from scoring twice in the Coppa Italia Final for Napoli and then netting a notable effort against Sampdoria at the weekend, the diminutive Insigne has conceded he hopes to make the cut.
“I cannot deny that I am waiting for good news in the coming days,” Insigne told reporters after yesterday’s appearance at Marassi.
“I hope to be in the national team and I hope to win the full confidence of Prandelli. He knows me, knows what I can give, and in this respect I am calm.
“But, now I want to achieve the goalscoring record with Napoli and reach the 100th goal. It would be nice if I scored it, but in any case the team is proving to be bright and in great shape.”
