Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo insists the victory over Liverpool was one of the greatest evenings of his career.
The Bianconeri collected a 3-2 win at Anfield on Thursday in a memorable night of Europa League action.
“It is very satisfying to win at such an historical venue,” Pozzo noted. “This is not something that happens every day…
“After 27 years in this game, it is one of the most beautiful sporting days that I can think of.”
Udinese didn’t look great in the opening 45 minutes, but they hit back after the break to collect three crucial points.
“I knew we were a better team than what we showed in the first half,” Pozzo continued. “Coach Francesco Guidolin should be praised for changing things at half-time.
“We deserved the win!”
Antonio Di Natale was back on the score-sheet after he was recently dropped from the side for disciplinary reasons.
“He’s a great player and he keeps proving that. He has goals in his blood. Things can happen, but they are quickly resolved thanks to the maturity of the player and the club.”
