Zuniga underwent a ‘clean-up’ operation on his problematic right knee in October of last year, to eventually make only six Serie A appearances for Rafa Benitez’s side.
The 28-year-old did then travel to the World Cup with Colombia, but has since struggled for first-team action back with his club, with them confirming this week he has now suffered another set-back with the joint.
The Cronache di Napoli reports that the wing-back is still feeling pain on the knee and is keen to go under the knife once again in order to sort out the problem.
However, the publication suggests that Napoli are against the idea of losing the player for another extended period of time, and are attempting to convince him otherwise.
