The Italian is being linked with the job after Edy Reja quit the club last week at the end of a season that saw them finish fourth.
Zola held talks with the outfit earlier this year when Reja tried to resign, but there has been no contact since then.
“We haven’t spoken to Lazio since February,” Fulvio Marrucco told La Lazio Siamo Noi on Monday evening.
“I’ve read reports about meetings and a list of players which Zola wants, but that is impossible as there hasn’t been any kind of negotiation.
“In fact, the likelihood of a move to Lazio are on the decrease…”
Zola, a former assistant to Pierluigi Casiraghi with the Italian Under-21 side, hasn’t worked since being sacked by West Ham in 2010.
