Walter Zenga says he is currently not looking for a coaching role in Italian football, but that if offered, he’d accept the Napoli job.
The retired goalkeeper revealed that he was in contention to replace Walter Mazzarri at Inter, before the position was offered to Roberto Mancini.
Talking to Radio Crc, the 54-year-old was asked what chance of a return to Serie A with Napoli.
“I am not looking for a bench in Italy, at this time I am here to visit relatives,” the former Catania and Palermo boss replied.

“Napoli is a very important club but today they have a very good Coach and there is no space for others.
“As a Coach I have much experience. If Benitez and De Laurentiis had to part ways, and I was to be offered the Napoli bench, I would take it.
“Napoli are a team that excites everywhere, there are Azzurri fans all over the world, even in Dubai. I often see Cavani, whilst I have also met with Lavezzi.”
Zenga also commented on Napoli’s Europa League test at Sparta Prague this evening, which is expected to come with a much-changed first XI.
“The Europa League game is important, whilst Napoli have a Coach who has great experience internationally, he has done well wherever he has gone.
“It will be a beautiful game – Sparta always win at home, but Napoli will be playing so as to advance from the group.
“Rotation? In every team there are six or seven players who are the base, they are the most important and if you are doing well, you should always play them, because this is the professionalism of a player.
“Higuain is one of these players, but perhaps he will not play tonight.”
