Parma will appoint Walter Zenga as their new Coach if they lose at home to Fiorentina this weekend, an Italian TV station claims.

Sportitalia are suggesting that the Italy 1990 World Cup goalkeeper is a contender to replace the under pressure Pasquale Marino.

Although Parma insisted last night that Marino was safe, the club are slipping down the standings.

The midweek defeat to Lecce hardly helped matters and Marino, who only arrived in the summer from Udinese, may have little time to save his job.

Zenga, formerly of Catania and Palermo, is available after he left Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on Christmas Eve.
