“I am very happy and thank President Urbano Cairo and Toro, because they allowed me to achieve my dream of coming back to Italy,” said the 27-year-old.

“It is what I wanted, it was my dream to return to Italy and I achieved it. Now my priority is to start work with my new teammates and give my contribution to the club.”

President Cairo also commented on the official club website after Zaza's struggles at West Ham United and Valencia.

“Simone Zaza is one of the most talented Italian strikers of his generation, a generous player with great temperament who fits the bill of a Toro player.

“His arrival further reinforces an attack that was already of a very high level. Along with his technical and physical qualities, he brings the enthusiasm of someone who chose Toro to come back to Italy and take on the role of a protagonist.

“In the Granata, he’ll find all the conditions to achieve his potential and be welcomed to a locker room that will immediately make him feel a key figure.”
