Javier Zanetti believes Inter’s “season begins tonight” against Pescara after one point from two Serie A rounds.

“We had two weeks to work, aside from the players who went on international duty, and the Coach had time to consider what we need to improve,” the Vice-President told Mediaset Premium.
“We have a quality squad and hope to start proving it this evening. Inter players must always give something more for the shirt on their backs. We all expect a great performance, because our season begins tonight.
“These two weeks helped everyone to get a grip on the situation. The Coach has his ideas of football, it’s normal he is just getting to know Italian football and the difficulties that set it apart from all the others.
“We have a quality squad and he wants us to be protagonists in every arena. We are all talking to Frank de Boer and trying to give him a hand.
“Tonight is another dangerous game and we know we’ll have to suffer, so we are trying to give the Coach all the necessary information to get the three points.”
De Boer has transformed the line-up with a 4-2-3-1 formation, introducing summer signings Joao Mario, Antonio Candreva and Ever Banega.
“Banega knows that position behind the striker well and can give a big contribution. He is a quality player and finds the final pass so easy.
“With Banega and Joao Mario on the field simultaneously, we needed a midfielder who could filter passes out like Gary Medel.”
