Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti says the club must do all it can to help Roberto Mancini move the Nerazzurri up the table.
The Argentinian is Inter’s all-time record appearance maker, and took up the role of Vice-President after retiring this summer.
“Against Roma I saw an Inter team which will grow,” Zanetti told reporters at an event for his Pupi Foundation.
“We faced a great team and we must focus on the positive things we did.

“Roberto will do a great job and as a club we have to be prepared to give him everything he needs to deliver a great season.
“Lamela, Cerci and Lavezzi [linked with Inter] are all great players.
“There are three games [until the transfer window opens], Roberto will speak with us and we’ll try to understand what it takes to move us up the League table.”
Zanetti also discussed the contractual situations of Mateo Kovacic and Mauro Icardi, with the former reportedly on the verge of agreeing a new contract at San Siro.
“They’re young, and we have faith in them. The most important thing is that every player feels pride when wearing the Inter shirt.”
