Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini doubts they’ll be allowed into Serie A after winning an appeal against Frosinone. “They’re taking us for a ride.”

The fall-out from the controversial promotion play-off final on June 16 continues, as yesterday the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) ruled that the FIGC’s June 27 punishment of a €25,000 fine and two games played behind closed doors was “insufficient.”
Now the FIGC will have to appoint another judge to give a verdict on Frosinone’s behaviour in that match, which saw players from the touchline throw extra balls on to the pitch to break up Palermo attacks.
It means any outcome is still possible, including overturning the result to promote Palermo in their place, but Zamparini has strong doubts.
“This is by no means a victory,” the President told the Corriere dello Sport.
“They’re taking us for a ride, just you wait and see. When it is decided all over again, they will simply give Frosinone a heavier fine. So much for re-evaluating the situation! They are making fun of us, as always.
“It’s only right they are trying to make up for the error made by the first judge, but it’s not enough.”
