Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has released another statement slamming referee Michael Fabbri.
The Rosanero went down 2-0 to Sampdoria yesterday, with the patron slamming the “scandalous incompetence” of the match referee.
“We’ve learned that the referee Fabbri lives a few hundred metres away from our Coach [Davide] Ballardini in Ravenna,” Zamparini noted in a new statement.
“I think his refereeing was decisively influenced by that. To show that he’s not influenced by his proximity, Fabbri unconsciously massacred the rights of Palermo.
“It’s necessary in future for the designator make us aware of these things, to avoid unpleasant and unjust refereeing.”
Zamparini compared the situation to that of Renzo Candussio, who he accused of being biased against Palermo during the game against Carpi in 2013-14.
The Rosanero patron had supposedly sacked the referee’s father from one of his companies, and accused the whistler of being out for revenge.
Candussio's father denied ever having had any connection to Zamparini.
