“The biggest thrill was when we took Palermo back into Serie A with Guidolin after so many years,” he said.
“That was the best Palermo I had, when we finished the first round with 38 points, but that of Pastore and Sabatini were also on the same level.
“It was the Palermo who dreamed, with young players who would then become champions.
“There were young players of great quality, plus players like Ilicic, Miccoli, Barzagli, Zaccardo, Barone, Grosso. We had 5-6 Italy players.
“My best XI? Posavec. I’ve never had any truly great goalkeepers. In defence, Grosso on the left, Barzagli in the middle, Zaccardo on the right.
“In midfield, Ilicic and Pastore, while up top, the No 1 is Dybala, even if Miccoli gave so much, as did Cavani.”
