Fabio Cannavaro, Marco Materazzi and Filippo Inzaghi all moved one step closer to becoming UEFA Pro Licence-qualified Coaches this week.

The three retired players, who were all members of Marcello Lippi’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad, were confirmed today as having all successfully passed exams for the UEFA A licence.

The trio all attended Renzo Ulivieri’s course between May 14 and June 8 this year at the FIGC’s renowned training facilities at Coverciano and are now all expected to progress on to the next level of the course, the UEFA Pro Licence.

This is the licence required for all professional Coaches in Serie A and was recently attained by the likes of Italy Under-21 Coach Devis Mangia and legend Roberto Baggio in May.

Inzaghi only recently confirmed his retirement from the playing side of things, joining Milan’s staff this summer as a youth team Coach.
