Parma sporting director Pietro Leonardi is confident that some of the club’s star players will stay with European football on the horizon.

The Crociati have been one of the in-form teams in Serie A since the turn of the year, losing their first game since January 1 late last month against Juventus.

And with the club in sixth position and set for a place in the Europa League next term, the board member believes that some of their better players will resist moves away.

“Biabiany and Paletta? At the end of the season we will see what happens with them,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Until the summer we can’t say what’s going to happen – you’ll have to ask them what they’re thinking.

“But personally, I believe that if we get into Europe they’ll stay with us.”

Leonardi then commented on Antonio Cassano’s recent form and the dream of going to the World Cup.

“Cassano’s quality is superb. When we signed him, the critics weren’t convinced.

“But after his form this season, we all hope he can go to Brazil. Whatever happens in his international career though, he will stay here.”
