Milan’s home kit for European games this season will be slightly different from the one used in Serie A to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Champions League victory in 2003.
The Rossoneri make their 2023-24 Champions League debut today hosting Newcastle at the Stadio Meazza. As explained by Tuesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 2), Milan will be wearing a special kit tonight and for all European games this term.
The jersey font will differ from the one used for Serie A games, while players’ names and numbers will be coloured in white rather than black. As explained by Gazzetta, the change has been made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Milan’s Champions League victory in 2003.
It was Milan’s sixth Champions League title, won on penalties against Juventus at Old Trafford.
The Rossoneri are the second most successful club in the competition with seven victories, only Real Madrid have more with 14.
