Walter Mazzarri has reflected on saying goodbye to Napoli, but declined comment on his replecament at the San Paolo or his future at Inter.

The 51-year-old resigned as Napoli Coach on the last day of the League season after three-and-a-half years in charge, later agreeing to take over at Inter for 2013-14.

“With Napoli in the last few years we have done really extraordinary things. The choices that I have taken have been hard. They are close to my heart,” reflected Mazzarri to Radio Marte today.

“Since I decided to leave Napoli, I have taken my things home and emptied my locker, in life you have to look forward.

“I am a little excited at the moment so I prefer not to talk about the choice made for my future.

“Out of respect for Napoli, I will not say anything about who will sit in my place.

“I send a big salute to all of Napoli’s fans for the love they gave me.

“I hope I have reciprocated the love they have shown me, they have given so much to this cause.”

Mazzarri is a known exponent of a three-man defensive system and confirmed that he intends to use it once more with Inter.

“I have used it for many years and as long as it works, I will go on like this. Juve has won two League titles with it.

“At the same time, it is clear that there will be variations to be made during a game, as I did often over the course of this season.”
