Wanda received the Socrates Award in Milan on Tuesday for combining her dual role as the wife and agent of Mauro Icardi with those of a football pundit, model and showgirl, despite being criticised for her management of the Inter striker.
“I’ll keep saying what I think,” she said.
“I know the world of football is a bit difficult for a woman, but I’ll keep saying the things I think, which obviously people can agree with or not.
“I’m a mother of five children, two of them girls, and I hope my little girls find a man like my husband, who defends me despite being so young.
“We don’t always agree with everything, but he listens to me. I’ve worked since I was a child.
“A woman must always be a woman, she must work and be independent. That’s what I want for my little ones.”
