Palermo have intimated that they will do a deal with Fiorentina over the transfer of Emiliano Viviano.

The custodian is currently co-owned with Inter, but the Sicilian club are set to sell their 50 per cent share in him this summer.

“There is nothing new to report right now, but there could be some new contact between the two clubs soon,” Palermo Vice-President Guglielmo Micciche told TMW.

“Fiorentina are interested in the player and the boy wants to wear the Viola shirt again. Let’s say that when there is a common goal, then a positive solution is usually found.”

The Italian international, 26, joined Palermo in January after missing the first six months of the season with knee ligament damage.

Fiorentina are looking for a new No 1 after Artur Boruc asked to leave the Stadio Franchi.
