The Corriere dello Sport reports that Lazio’s Modibo Diakite is on the verge of agreeing a Bosman free transfer to Fiorentina.
The Frenchman had been in talks with Napoli and was expected to head to the San Paolo in July, but the Azzurri have hesitated in wrapping up the switch.
That has thus opened the door for the Viola who first made their interest known in the stopper last summer.
Diakite has played just one game this term, in the Coppa Italia, after he was frozen out of the Biancocelesti squad for refusing a new deal in the capital.
Lazio offered him an improved salary of €850,000 a campaign, but the 26-year-old opted against putting pen to paper.
Now it seems that Fiorentina have him in their grasp.
