Italy international Jorginho turned on the style with an inspired pass to set up Kai Havertz for the last-minute Chelsea winner against Newcastle United.
It was just the pick-me-up they needed after a week in which the club’s finances were frozen as part of sanctions against Vladimir Putin-linked oligarch and Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich.
Jorginho made the move with his pass and Havertz finished it off after a sublime first touch.
This is the kind of confidence booster Jorginho needs ahead of Italy’s crucial World Cup play-offs against North Macedonia, then hopefully either Portugal or Turkey.
