Inter defender Francesco Acerbi ran a huge risk during the Champions League semi-final when seeming to intentionally stamp on Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali’s foot.
The incident occurred in the Milan penalty area, so only resulted in a free kick for the Rossoneri.
Mike Maignan and Fikayo Tomori both rushed to the referee and wanted stronger action taken against Acerbi, especially as it was an off the ball challenge.
Acerbi immediately apologised, but the look on his face when making the stamp suggests he knew what he was doing.
VAR doesn’t exist during Milan games. Weekend at Spezia too. Blatant penalty for push on Diaz, and it wasn’t even checked.
