Police in Chile have suspended Arturo Vidal’s driving licence after he failed an alcohol test, but he stays in the Copa America.
The Juventus midfielder crashed his Ferrari while returning from a casino in Santiago last night, on a day off from international duty.
Vidal will have to sign every month at the Chilean consulate in Milan, as a Judge accepted a request to give another 120 days for the investigation.
It was confirmed his blood alcohol was 1.21 when the limit is 0.8.

However, he is unlikely to be penalised by the ‘Ley Emilia’ law, which demands a prison term of at least one year up to 10 years for driving under the influence of alcohol.
This is because nobody was seriously hurt in the crash, which destroyed his vehicle.
Meanwhile, a crowd of fans built up outside the tribunal in San Bernardo urging Chile not to drop the player for their Copa America campaign.
“Now we have to verify Vidal’s conditions and consider how important he is for us,” Coach Jorge Sampaoli told reporters.
“He made a mistake, but it was not so serious as to warrant his exclusion from the tournament.
“In these situations it is much easier to exclude than include. I will not exclude anyone for having made a mistake.”
It still doesn’t look good for Vidal, as local station Bio Bio aired videophone footage from straight after the crash.
The player was heard telling police: “Arrest me, but then you ruin all of Chile.”
