The agent of Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti has dismissed the possibility of a move to Serie A in the summer.
Verratti this week admitted that he would like to play in the Italian top flight at some stage, a desire which fuelled the transfer rumour mill given Juventus’ interest in him.
“I think his words were just misunderstood,” representative Donato Di Campli told Tutto Juve on Friday.
“He said he’d like to return to Italy one day, but he’s very happy in Paris right now and he won’t be leaving PSG.
“Marco underlined how happy he is at a Press conference yesterday and he said he would not be leaving.
“Boss Carlo Ancelotti even turned up and, in front of everyone, asked Marco if he wanted to leave. You can imagine the laughter…
“Marco is happy in France and is an idol of the fans. Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic replica shirts have sold more than his.”
Juventus and Napoli made offers to Pescara for the then teenager in the summer, but PSG bid €12m.
“A lot of important clubs were interested, but nobody thought he could immediately be a protagonist,” Di Campli added.
“Some clubs wanted to sign him and send him out on loan to gain experience. Only PSG truly believed.”
