Italy midfielder Marco Verratti returned from his long injury and scored in Paris Saint-Germain versus Metz.

The 23-year-old, widely considered to be one of the best Italian players of this generation, had to skip Euro 2016 and almost half of last season due to a complicated groin inflammation.

It appears he is finally back, as he was subbed in during the second half in PSG's game against Metz. With only 30 minutes to play, Verratti nonetheless made an impact on the game and scored the goal for the 3-0.

While his return to form is probably still not complete, he is nonetheless a candidate for Italy's friendly against France on September 2, a game that will also represent Coach Giampiero Ventura's debut.
