Giampiero Ventura felt Lazio’s last-gasp equaliser against Torino was ironic considering last week’s result.

The Granata had scored twice in stoppages to beat Genoa 2-1, but today were pegged back to 3-3 by 10-man Lazio with the last kick of the game.

“Those who live by the 94th minute sword, die by the 94th minute sword,” shrugged the Coach on Rai Sport.

“Today there appeared to be no chance that Lazio could score at the end, because we were in absolute control of the game.

“However, in injury time we stopped playing and focused only on hoofing the ball away from danger. Anxiety played a nasty trick on us and we dropped two valuable points.

“There are really so many regrets, because we had played well and deserved the victory. This too is a stepping stone in the learning process and will be useful to avoid these errors in future.”

Toro are now in joint eighth place with Lazio, two points adrift of Parma and Milan in sixth.

“The Europa League? We believe, as everyone does, even if we know it won’t be easy.”
