New Napoli stopper Bruno Uvini says he was advised by Brazilian compatriot Thiago Silva to come and play his football in Serie A.
Although the latter left Milan for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, he has spoken well of the Italian game.
“Thiago Silva suggested Italy,” the 21-year-old stated. “This is a place where you learn the tricks of the trade to become a great defender.
“I want to learn and play football at the highest levels and I thus believe that Napoli is the right place for me to do this.”
Uvini, linked with Tottenham in the past, moved to the Stadio San Paolo last month after a deal was agreed with Sao Paulo.
He’s been likened to Brazil and Juventus centre-back Lucio, but the youngster believes those comparisons are wide of the mark.
“He’s a giant too, but I have my own characteristics and I hope to show people what they are,” he concluded.
