Udinese have lit up the Dacia Arena in the colours of the Ukrainian flag in a show of solidarity following the Russian invasion last week.

The Friulian club wanted to demonstrate their opposition to the ongoing war in Ukraine and highlighted that they’re hoping for a peaceful and respectful solution to the conflict, and so they’ve done this by lighting the stadium in blue and yellow, a small gesture to show their support.

Earlier today, UEFA and FIFA announced that Russian clubs and the national team would be suspended and no longer allowed to compete in their competitions, which includes the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

Sampdoria wore shirts with a message of peace ahead of their match against Atalanta this evening and Lazio also wore positive shirts ahead of their game against Napoli yesterday. The crisis has brought people from around the world together as they unite against the Russian aggression, calling for an immediate end to hostilities.
