Udinese director Fabrizio Larini admits “it’s difficult to say no to Juventus” for Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Isla, but confirms two new arrivals.
“In the last few days we have had some preliminary meetings with many different clubs to understand reciprocal requirements,” director of sport Larini told Udinese Channel.
“In particular Juventus manifested their interest in these two players. Juve are an important club and it’s difficult for us to say no when faced with certain teams and players who want to go as high as possible in their profession, not to mention economic advantages.
“We are aware of the siren song reaching the ears of our players and it could distract them. Several clubs have also requested Paulo Barreto – most notably Torino, as Coach Giampiero Ventura knows him well – and Antonio Floro Flores.”
However, Udinese have also reinforced their squad going into the Champions League preliminary round.
“The objective is to maintain a competitive side, which is why we are also proceeding in new signings for the future. Along those lines, the Udinese jersey will be worn by Flamengo midfielder Willians, who is already mature, and Vasco da Gama’s very promising youngster Allan.
“We’ll also have Gabriel Silva, the former Palmeiras defender who spent last season on loan at Novara, Serbian goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic who was at Siena and naturally Luis Muriel, the very talented striker who played for Lecce. He has great quality and many big clubs have asked for him, but we’d like to see Muriel at the Friuli for a few years.”
Larini denied reports of interest in Fiorentina’s Alessio Cerci or Bologna trequartista Alessandro Diamanti.
