Senior Italy boss Conte will be in the stands to watch players who can make the step up, including Sassuolo forward Berardi.

“Having the Nazionale Coach in the stands is further motivation for everyone,” said the 20-year-old in his Press conference.

“This is a very important game and we hope not to get it wrong. We’re over the defeat to Sweden and want to stay in this tournament.”

Berardi scored against Sweden and has netted an extraordinary 31 goals in his first two Serie A seasons.

“It is a pleasure to be labelled a ‘leader’ by my teammates, but I don’t feel that way because the whole group is full of leaders. I am growing a great deal, though.

“To wear the Italy jersey is something to be proud of and the dream of every child.”

His club teammates Simone Zaza and Nicola Sansone have already made the step up to senior Italy level, so the Sassuolo trident attack could be reunited.
