Giovanni Trapattoni insists his famous Press conference rant at Bayern Munich was planned.
The Italian tactician famously railed against his side in broken German during his time in Bavaria, including describing them as “weak like a bottle empty”.
“I knew that Press conference would have a big effect,” Trapattoni explained to Bild.
“Prominent journalists were there. I also told my friend Bruno Longhi to be ready. It wasn’t spontaneous, it was planned.”
