Torino Coach Giampiero Ventura says his team want to 'do something important' ahead of tomorrow's game against Zenit St Petersburg.
The Granata are trailing 2-0 in aggregate score after the first leg of the Europa League Last 16, but Ventura says their drive is not in question.
“The team wants to do something important,” he said in today's Press conference.
“The result in the first leg gives us no more than 40 per cent of a chance of qualifying, because when you're 2-0 behind you can't afford to concede a goal.
“Before [the matches against Athletic] Bilbao we knew that if we did things well we could have gone through.
“In that case it was enough to win, regardless of the result. Here we must win without conceding goals.
“But I still think the game is going to be open.”
Toro will be playing without midfielders Marco Benassi and Giuseppe Vives, further complicating their task.
“Of course we'd rather have a different situation as far as our available squad goes, but having limited men was inevitable after we sold some of our European players at the beginning of the year.
“But we can still make a run for it. Tomorrow we're playing the kind of game that kindles excitement, that requires no extra motivation.
“I think every player will want to play it.”
