Torino “could renew” Coach Giampiero Ventura’s contract, but are “absolutely not” interested in Antonio Cassano.
President Urbano Cairo spoke to the media during the presentation of their new sponsors Technoalarm.
“Ventura has a big impact on the results of the team and is a top level Coach,” said Cairo.
“We have a contract until the end of next season, but that doesn’t mean we can’t renew it earlier. This is a happy marriage.”

The Granata are unbeaten in nine rounds and for the first time since March 1978 have put together four consecutive Serie A victories.
“We’ve done very well over the past month and for a while felt the responsibility to have a strong position in the table.
“We reached where we are today by keeping a close eye on the balance sheet. We do not have a single Euro of debt and all the wages are paid punctually. We can all be proud of that, including the fans who call me ‘stingy.’
“Over the last two years I invested around €40m, which is more or less how much we gained from transfers.”
Cairo was criticised by supporters for selling both top scorers Ciro Immobile and Alessio Cerci last summer.
“They both wanted to leave and if a player doesn’t want to stay, it’s best for everyone if he goes, otherwise he could damage the team.
“I get on well with Alessio and I’m disappointed he only left on deadline day, but I did sell him for €15m. Would I have Cerci back? I don’t know, I’m not a fan of comebacks. He remains a great player.
“As for Immobile, I haven’t heard from him. He’s doing very well in the Champions League, but the whole Borussia Dortmund squad is struggling domestically.”
Torino have been heavily linked with ex-Parma striker Cassano, who is currently out of contract after terminating his deal with the Stadio Tardini side.
“Cassano? Absolutely not,” replied Cairo. “Toro are fine as we are.”
