Luca Toni insists he “still wants to have fun” after signing a one-year contract with Hellas Verona.
The club was promoted into Serie A this summer and will be able to count on the 36-year-old’s experience.
“I signed today and now we’ll wait for next week so I can get to know my teammates and start a new season,” he told the official club website.
“There was a delay in finalising this move because we were expecting a baby. Now things are a little more settled, we decided along with my family to come to Verona.
“Clearly I am very motivated. I’ve had a good career, I’m happy and if I decided to come here it’s because I want to put myself back in the game.
“I could easily have retired or gone on a long vacation, but I am at Verona because I still want to have fun.”
