Defender Lorenzo Tonelli has signed a contract extension, and will remain with Empoli until 2019.
The 25-year-old formed a solid partnership with Daniele Rugani last season, and though the youngster has moved on to Juventus, Tonelli will be remaining in Tuscany.
“Empoli FC announces that it has reached an agreement to extend Lorenzo Tonelli’s contract until June 30, 2019,” the club confirmed on their official Twitter profile.
Tonelli has made 13 Serie A appearances so far this season, scoring once and picking up five bookings.
