President Erick Thohir assured he is not looking to sell the majority of Inter, “but I do need support.”
There have been reports of advanced negotiations to sell at least 20 per cent of the club to Chinese company Suning Group.
“Welcome to Italy!” joked the Indonesian businessman on Inter Channel.
“The papers always write different things. I have been here for two years and am trying to reconstruct the squad. Massimo Moratti helps and gives me advice. We are on the right track.

“Our revenue is growing, our performances are improving, we have a good team and a great Coach. We built a strong management structure and are growing not only in sporting terms, but also commercial ones.
“I am the President, I want Inter to be great again. It is a process, which is why we say it is a five-year plan. I have no intention of selling the majority share of the club.
“I don’t know why the papers write that the club is on the verge of bankruptcy, that I argue with Roberto Mancini or don’t have a good rapport with Moratti. I have no idea.
“The media have to say the truth, they have to check the balance sheets. I am the owner of a media company myself, but I respect our readers.
“I will remain, I will keep the majority share. I do need support. If we have the chance to bring in a strategic partner who can make Inter even stronger, then why not? This happens all over the world.
“We must be open to the world, because we are one of the top 20 clubs. All clubs grow and we have to as well.
“We wanted to build our own stadium, now Milan want to work on it with us. There’s nothing strange, as in the NBA the Lakers and Clippers share the same arena.”
Thohir also commented on reports he is in transfer negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain.
“I go to Paris often for personal matters. People will write I am going there to meet Paris Saint-Germain, but that is not true. They write that every time!
“Nasser Al Khelaifi is a friend, we support each other. I won’t be in Paris for football matters, but I have other things to do.
“I will return to Milan in May to support the team and be close to the club when needed. It’s lovely to be here.”
