The president is currently in the United States, where he is holding talks with the new Suning owners from China.
“We spoke about many things,” Thohir told Inter Channel. “We want to speed up the process of renewal of our structures in Appiano, perhaps by adding a few more pitches. We want to develop our training centre but we also want to improve the structures of our youth sector, so we can help the kids improve.
“We'll try and expand the staff, with a manager in Appiano to supervise the structure. There's already a manager for the players, who takes care of their needs. This is something very common in the United States.
“Our fans have increased in numbers. Last year we had about 254 million fans, now there are 311 million and we're very happy.”
In closing, Thohir also made a statement about broadcasting rights in Serie A.
“Serie A needs cooperation to develop the championship because today we are the fourth European league in terms of overall revenue. Suning want to help the expansion of Serie A in China and in the Italian market.”
