Domenico Tedesco said Belgium have ‘a few ideas’ for tonight’s Nations League clash with Italy, as there are question marks over their tactical approach in the absence of some big names.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

The Red Devils started the group with a victory over Israel and 2-0 defeat to France, so sit in joint second place with Les Bleus going into this match.

Tedesco has to reshuffle Belgium team

They are without injured Kevin de Bruyne and Amadou Onana, while Romelu Lukaku asked to be left out so he could work on regaining full fitness with Antonio Conte at Napoli.

“It’s not just Kevin we are missing, as Romelu and Amadou were always starters too if available, but we have a good potential, many young players and we must concentrate on the players who are available,” Tedesco told RAI Sport.

Tedesco gave the interview in Italian, as he was born in Italy and his family moved to Germany when he was a baby.

“We are well aware of Italy’s strength, this team can hurt any opponent, and we must be concentrated from the first to the last minute.”

There is some confusion over exactly how Belgium are set out this evening, as it could be a three-man defence or four with Zeno Debast staying deep at right-back.

“We have a few ideas, so we’ll see.”
