“We had to make some changes after the Palermo game, as from 20 minutes onwards we lost our bearings in that match,” Tassotti told Sky Sport Italia.

Torres has been dropped and Ignazio Abate is injured, so De Sciglio is moved to right-back.

“Abate had a good start to the season and we made the most of that, but the truth is that De Sciglio is a right-back. He only adapted to play left-back and is not naturally set for that role.

“As for Torres, perhaps he has a few problems adapting to Serie A, but the principle trouble is the ankle injury that means he can’t train properly.

“He is running into some difficulties, much like the whole team. We are trying to put a bit more quality into midfield and want to understand if Giacomo Bonaventura can play in a 4-3-3.”
