Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has insisted that his side played well despite losing 2-0 to Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

A late penalty from Pierre Webo and an injury time second from Dirk Kuyt gave the Turkish side a lead going into the quarter-final second leg.

But the Albanian has claimed that the Biancocelesti did well, even after going down to 10 men.

“The sending off of Onazi was right,” he told reporters. “It was a second yellow card.

“The problem is after that, the referee affected us with continuous punishment.

“I think the team has played a really great game. There is still hope for us.”
