Lazio sporting director Igli Tare says he ‘doesn’t think’ Keita Balde Diao will join Serie A rivals Inter.
The Nerazzurri are rumoured to be interested in recruiting the 22-year-old ahead of the looming transfer deadline.
However, ahead of the Biancocelesti’s trip to Chievo, the Albanian official denied a deal is close to being struck between the clubs.
“Inter? I don’t think that’s going to happen, we are a long way off what we are expecting,” Tare began.
“I don’t know how to respond, he has a contract with Lazio and that is what we are working on the basis of.
“He has developed here and it is right that credit be given to Lazio for that. I think we will find the right solution for him and the team.”
Tare added that French side Monaco are one of a number of other clubs interested in Keita.
“Monaco? Not just them, there are other clubs too."
There have been reports this week of Tare meeting Inter director Walter Sabatini for dinner, but he denied this had taken place.
“Dinner with Sabatini? I can’t confirm that because I have never been for dinner with Sabatini.”
Finally, the Albanian revealed that Keita’s Lazio teammate Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the subject of a large offer from an unnamed club.
“Milinkovic? It is true that a very high offer has come in for him.”
