Inter ace Saphir Taider has revealed why he opted for an international career with Algeria rather than France.
The midfielder had appeared for the French Under-18, U-19 and U-20 sides, but opted to play full international football for the African nation instead.

“I chose the Algerian national team because, even though I was born and grew up in France, I’ve always felt Algerian,” he told Inter Channel.
“My family is happy with my choice. I often go to Algeria and take advantage of this opportunity when I’m with the national team.
“Everything’s more difficult in Algeria. There are fewer opportunities for young players and the talented players aren’t developed.
“But slowly they’re getting there and the country is making progress at a footballing level.”
Taider, born to a Tunisian father and an Algerian mother, moved to Inter in the summer after an impressive spell at Bologna.
