The Giallorossi were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta this afternoon, while the League leaders won at Pescara to move establish an eight point lead.
“We lost the points because of the first half,” Szczesny sighed, speaking to Roma TV.
“In the second half we almost deserved to win but we didn’t do enough, we’re disappointed. In the first half we got it wrong and they won all the 50-50s.
“They deserved it in the first half, but we went very close twice in the second half. The draw is fair.
“We know that Juventus won’t drop eight points, we have to win all of our games and bring home this mini-trophy for second place.
“The League is over, in my opinion.
“We’re having a good season, but we’ve made errors at crucial times like against Lyon and Lazio. We also got it wrong today, we get it wrong at important moments.
“It’s our fault and we have to take responsibility and improve. Second place becomes important now.”
