“A difficult match awaits us and it is always wonderful to play the derby,” the goalkeeper told JTV.
“Even if the Scudetto is already won, you always play this game to win.”
Toro inevitably have more motivation tonight, as they are in sixth place, only three points behind Atalanta and that fourth Champions League berth.
“It’s different, that is true, but we have a responsibility to always play for the win at Juventus. Plus it’s the Derby di Torino and that is always enjoyable,” Szczesny added on Sky Sport Italia.
Cristiano Ronaldo reached 600 goals at club level, immediately leapfrogged again by Lionel Messi at Barcelona, and the Serie A Capocannoniere title is still up for grabs.
“We want to give Ronaldo a hand to score, as the competition with Messi over the last few years has been wonderful. We want to help him reach 700, 800 and maybe 1,000 goals.”
Salvatore Sirigu has impressed in the Granata goal this season, so Szczesny was asked if he was the best current Italian goalkeeper.
“Sirigu had a great season, while Donnarumma, Cragno and Meret are also good Italian goalkeepers. Sirigu has experience and great quality.”
