Giovanni Stroppa denies reports he was ready to resign in protest after Pescara’s win over Parma.
The Coach saved his job with a 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon and had been warned publicly by President Daniele Sebastiani that he would be sacked if he failed to get a result.
Some newspapers have suggested that Stroppa was planning to resign at the final whistle as an act of defiance against the club.
“I never even thought of that,” assured the tactician in his debut Serie A experience.
“It would’ve been too easy after a victory and with the team out of the relegation zone. But seeing as I have never abandoned a situation when there is difficulty, and having been more than in the balance before the game with Parma, of course I wouldn’t have done something like that.
“I have to be grateful to President Sebastiani, because if it wasn’t for him then perhaps I would no longer be the Coach of Pescara.”
