The reports continue to circulate that Manchester United have a deal with Strootman to sign him in January now that the Giallorossi have been eliminated from the Champions League.
Today director Mauro Baldissoni declared “Kevin is not for sale. We received no offers from Manchester United and we don't intend to sell him because he is a young player, with a long contract that binds him to us.
“Roma want to build the team around him.”
However, this evening director of sport Sabatini painted a slightly different picture in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
“If President Pallotta says he won’t sell, then I can’t add anything more. Unless there is an indecent proposal, then Kevin will stay here, but I don’t think that will happen. We can’t lose his face and his performances.
“Going out of the Champions League is a big blow, but we will invent something on the market to get the money necessary for new buys. A centre-back is possible, but I trust Castan will be available soon.”
Castan is out until most likely March or April after brain surgery to remove a cavernoma.
